Antimonopoly authority gives green light to GTC`s sale of stake in Galeria Mokotow

The preliminary agreement on the sale of remaining stake was signed between GTC and an affiliate of Unibail Rodamco S.E. in May this year. Consent from the UOKiK was one of two conditions preceding. The second and remaining condition to be fulfilled is approval by the group of banks financing the project. The consent is expected shortly.

The transaction will bring GTC approx EUR 110 m of free cash to facilitate future developments in Poland and other countries of the region. The transaction values the asset at EUR 475m.

Galeria Mokotow is a prime retail and entertainment center located in Warsaw. The property was completed in 2,000 and remains a landmark development in the retail sector in Poland. The mall comprises 62,000 sqm of net rentable retail space, a number of renowned shops and service points, as well as a multiplex cinema.

GTC projects in Łódź and Katowice named

Office parks built by Globe Trade Centre S.A. (GTC) in Łódź and Katowice received 2nd prizes in the category of buildings for public use in the Building of the Year 2010 competition, organized by the Polish Union of Civil Engineers and Technicians, the Ministry of Infrastructure and the General Office of Building Control.

The purpose of the Building of the Year competition is to recognise structures that are distinguished in terms of the quality, organisation and timeliness of the work, the technological solutions used, and the impact on the economy of the region. The detailed review of the projects is divided into three phases, in which a panel of independent judges evaluates the buildings on the basis of documents submitted as well as an on-site visit.

University Business Park is located in Łódź between al. Kościuszki and ul. Wólczańska. The complex includes 37,500 sq m of Class A office space. The design for the project was prepared by the Łódź studio NOW Biuro Architektoniczne. The general contractor was Strabag. University Business Park is home to such companies as Intergraph, Kredyt Bank, Aegon, Warta Life Insurance, Hermann Kirchner, Bankruptcy Management Solutions, Tax Care and Pharmena. Francuska Office Centre was built in the centre of Katowice, at ul. Francuska 34. The complex includes 21,700 sq m of modern office space and was designed by the prominent studio APA Wojciechowski. The general contractor was Hochtief Polska. Tenants include such companies as Ruch, Bank Millennium, Nordea Bank, Philips Lighting and Berlitz. Both of the award-winning projects were completed in 2010. In additional to state-of-the-art technical solutions, they provide tenants the opportunity for flexible arrangement and efficient management of the space, for example for back-office operations or for R&D or laboratories. They also offer the opportunity to grow within the same office park, which is still hard to find in either of the cities.

Reporter shop opening soon at Galeria Jurajska

GTC S.A., the owner and manager of Galeria Jurajska in Częstochowa, has signed a lease with a new tenant, clothing retailer Reporter. The new shop will open in September of this year.

Reporter is a Polish company that has been on the market since 1994, offering clothing and accessories for men and women.

According to Anna Malcharek, managing director for shopping centres at GTC, “The Reporter shop will perfectly complement the clothing lines available at Galeria Jurajska. The up-to-date masculine style is perfect for energetic young people and will certainly be to the taste of our customers.”

The international firm Jones Lang LaSalle was the agent for the lease transaction.

Galeria Jurajska is located at al. Wojska Polskiego 207, on a section of national route 1, which runs through Częstochowa and connects northern and southern Poland.

The total area of Galeria Jurajska is 130,000 sq m, 49,000 sq m of which is retail and entertainment space, offering 200 shops, food locations and service points, as well as a Cinema City multiplex.

Galeria Jurajska features shops from the most popular Polish and international brands. For many of them, it is their debut on the local retail market. Retailers who have already opened shops at Galeria Jurajska include Alma, Peek & Cloppenburg, the LPP Group (Reserved, Cropp, Home & You, Esotiq, House and Mohito), the Inditex Group (Zara, Bershka and Stradivarius), C&A, Euro RTV AGD, Intersport, Empik, H&M, New Yorker, KappAhl, Smyk, Rossmann, Kakadu, Sephora, Douglas, Promod, Max Mara, Trussardi, s.Oliver and Apart.

For customers at Galeria Jurajska, there is a multilevel parking garage for over 2,000 cars. There are also numerous bus lines stopping immediately adjacent to the mall.
