GTC receives the LEED Gold certification for Cascade Office Building

GTC, one of the leading real estate developers in Central and Eastern Europe, has received LEED Gold certification for the Cascade Office Building, located near Victoriei Square, in Bucharest’s Central Business District (CBD). Currently, all five of the company’s office projects in Romania are with Gold certificates, obtained under different certification schemes between 2019 and 2021. As of 2021, GTC will use renewable energy sources in all its Romanian buildings, thus committing to provide clean energy for its facilities across Europe.

Cascade Office Building is one of Bucharest’s iconic office projects, located in a key part of the city at Strada Buzești 62-64, a 7-minute walk from Victoriei Square and a 20-minute drive from Henri Coandă International Airport. The 4, 210 sqm building was completed in 2005 and includes modern energy-saving features such as intelligent lighting, air-conditioning or local temperature control systems, access control and CCTV monitoring. The 7-months LEED Gold certification process for Cascade Office Building was awarded after evaluation according to seven criteria, such as sustainable design, energy efficiency and air conditioning, useful materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation, location and transportation, which confirms excellent operation and maintenance conditions (LEED O+M).

GTC Romania office properties include: City Gate (North and South Towers), Cascade Office Building, Premium Plaza and Premium Point. All have been Gold certified or re-certified in the last three years as follows: City Gate South Tower advanced from LEED Silver to Gold certification; City Gate North Tower achieved LEED Gold recertification; and the Premium Point and Premium Plaza buildings went through DGNB Gold recertification.  “The LEED Gold certification of the Cascade Office Building is an important achievement of our sustainable development strategy, reiterated in the ESG 2020 report. GTC S.A. raises c. EUR 123 million via new share issue

Subsequent to the shareholders’ decision in June 2021 to increase the company’s capital, GTC offered 55,000,000 O-series bearer shares. On the back of strong demand the Company eventually sold as many as 88,700,000 shares at PLN 6.40 per share, raising new capital of approx. EUR 123 million. 

The transaction was conducted in the accelerated book-build, which started on Tuesday, 14 December and closed on Thursday, 16 December. Over the two days numerous Polish and international investors placed their demand declarations significantly oversubscribing the base offer comprising of 55,000,000 new shares. On the back of strong demand, the Company decided to increase the offer size by more than 60% and finally to allocate 88,700,000 shares at PLN 6.40 per share, raising approx. EUR 123 million, which will be used to strengthen capital structure of the Group and fund future growth.

GTC’s Management Board with new members

GTC announces that the company’s Supervisory Board has just appointed Pedja Petronijevic to the position of the Chief Development Officer and János Gárdai as the Chief Operations Officer.

The newly appointed Chief Development Officer and Management Board Member of GTC, Pedja Petronijevic joined the Group in 2008 as Technical Director for Serbia. Since 2012 when he was promoted to Country Managing Director, Mr Petronijevic has successfully overseen portfolio growth. During his cadence, GTC completed the construction of 10 office properties in Belgrade including FortyOne and Green Heart as well as oversaw construction of Ada Mall, a modern shopping center in the heart of Belgrade. Pedja Petronijevic was also honored with the Best Leadership of the Year award on the 2017 CIJ Awards Serbia & SEE. Prior to GTC, he oversaw operations of Mercury Engineering in Serbia. He started his professional career being a project engineer in one of the largest developments in Gaborone, Botswana. Mr Petronijevic holds an M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Belgrade.

János Gárdai, the new Chief Operating Officer and Management Board Member at GTC, started his career in 1996 as a financial analyst at Autóvill Rt. Between 1997 and 1999, he worked as a financial controller and a reporting manager at ERECO Rt. Subsequently, Mr Gárdai joined White Star Real Estate (AIG/Lincoln), where for the last 22 years, he was involved in all aspects of the real estate business activities in various positions, starting from Finance Director, through Development Director and Managing Director to Country Partner. He managed and oversaw operations of the Hungarian office, being involved in the development, property and asset management, as well as acquisitions and new business opportunities. Over the years, he managed various investments of 400m in total. Mr Gárdai graduated from the faculty of Corporate Accounting at the College of Finance and Accounting.

GTC’s Globis Poznań with a new tenant after renovation

Notus Finanse SA has signed a lease agreement with Globe Trade Centre to occupy 430 sq m in the modernized A-class office development, Globis Poznań. The new lease followed a comprehensive renovation of the landmark property in Poznań, including lobby makeover and HVAC optimization.

Welcome GTC: a new app for better tenant experience

Globe Trade Centre has launched a new app – “Welcome GTC” – to ease access to building amenities and engage tenants with more comfortable and safer workplace experience. The app is available for tenants of GTC’s landmark properties in Poland – Aeropark in Warsaw, Globis Poznań and University Business Park in Łódż. The end goal of GTC is to introduce “Welcome GTC” to all properties across Poland and CEE in the future.

Built by Space OS developers, “Welcome GTC” app transforms the commodity office into a dynamic asset, helping to meet shifting tenant needs with confidence and flexibility. For example, the users of selected GTC offices can now book meeting rooms through the app, stay updated with news about the gastronomy or shopping offer within the office vicinity, order takeaway meals from restaurants nearby or report a technical issue whenever necessary. Overall, the new tenant-centric solution should help engage tenants as one community, connected through the app. Currently, Welcome GTC is available for tenants in Aeropark in Warsaw, Globis Poznań and University Business Park in Łódż, but the company plans to carry out app launches in the whole portfolio, including CEE countries.
