Tchibo and Quiksilver will soon be opening shops at Galeria Kazimierz in Cracow. The new tenants will occupy nearly 370 sq m of retail space. The opening of the new shops is planned for September, with the first of them, Quiksilver, opening next Saturday.
Tchibo is best known as a producer of top-quality coffee. The firm began its operations in Germany over 60 years ago, distributing its coffee by post. Thanks to steady growth, it became one of the largest producers and retailers of coffee in the world. The firm has been present in Poland since 1992. In addition to coffee, it also offers a wide range of fashion goods (clothing and accessories) and home decoration items.
The Tchibo location at Galeria Kazimierz will occupy 193 sq m on the ground floor of the mall. The shop is scheduled to open at the end of September this year.
The other new tenant, Quiksilver, is a producer and distributor of clothing and accessories for the young and young at heart. Quiksilver products are designed for a carefree lifestyle, inspired by the world of surfers, skateboarders and snowboarders.
The Quiksilver shop will occupy 173 sq m on the ground floor of the mall. The design of the shop alludes to the original French concept. The shop will offer items from the Quiksilver and Roxy brands. It will be the first Quiksilver location in Poland with an accent more on fashion than sport.
The opening of the Quiksilver shop is scheduled for Saturday, 10 September. On the opening day customers will receive an attractive 20% discount.
“The two shops that will soon join the tenant mix at Galeria Kazimierz fit in well with the overall strategy of offering shoppers attractive and sought-after brands,” said Dagmara Filipiak, Senior Consultant for Retail Leasing at Jones Lang LaSalle, responsible for leasing space at Galeria Kazimierz. “We observe that all of the changes resulting from relaunch of the centre have been very well received by the customers of Galeria Kazimierz. They appreciate quality, originality and a wide selection.”
Galeria Kazimierz was GTC’s second retail development in Poland, after Galeria Mokotów in Warsaw. It was also the first modern retail and entertainment centre in Cracow.
The architecture of Galeria Kazimierz offers a functional and attractive combination of modern retail space with landmark tenement buildings restored and incorporated into the layout of the mall. There are over 130 shops and service points on over 36,000 sq m of retail space, with a wide variety of entertainment options, including a 10-screen multiplex cinema. The anchor tenants at Galeria Kazimierz are Zara, H&M, C&A, Reserved, Carry, KappAhl, Empik, Alma, Pure Fitness, RTV Euro AGD and Cinema City.
Galeria Kazimierz is owned by GTC and Quinlan, each holding 50% of the shares.
